Agniveer – Awesome Opportunity

This blog comes from a person who attempted to enlist in the Indian Army (in several units at various times between 2006 and 2010) but couldn’t due to standard Army processes (including medicals), and now living plan B of his life.

Given the option, I would have chosen this Agneepath Yojna since it would have been an excellent fit for me.

Imagine that I am 19 years old and I am chosen for the Agneepath Yojna. For the next four years, I will receive training from one of the greatest militaries in the world.

Here is a breakdown of the pay I will earn over the next four years.

  • 1st year. – 30,000/- (21,000 – In Hand)
  • 2nd year – 33,000/- (23,100 – In Hand)
  • 3rd year – 36,500/- (25,580 – In Hand)
  • 4th year – 40,000/- (28,000 In Hand)

If you do the math, it is obvious that there is a 10% annual increment. The deducted money will be saved under Agneeveer corpus which is like 5.02 lakh in 4 years. After that, the government will double this cash, and when I depart(if I depart after 4 years), I’ll receive 11.41 lakh as Sava Nidhi. To serve in the finest army in the world, I will do everything I can to demonstrate my mettle and get picked as one of the 25 percent who are still in the Army.

However, if I’m not chosen, having 11 lakh or more at the age of 23, when I’m just in the 10th or 12th grade, is fantastic. I may have more than 15 lac in my account if I save the money I receive as a hand pay. Not to forget the traits that I will possess like “Discipline & Dedication, Courage, Loyalty and Integrity, Physical Fitness, Communication Skills, Being a Team Player, and Most Importantly, Service Before Self.” These attributes will help me distinguish myself from my competitors.

The uncertainty is being caused by the question of what I’ll do in four years. The recent violence across different parts of India is due to this uncertainty. I would have invested my resources and abilities in any of these to safeguard my future:

  • Spend the money on advancing my career so I can be the finest in my area
  • Spend the funds on a startup (Imagine what I can achieve with this money and skills)
  • Find a position in another government department that is giving Agneeveer precedence
  • Go work for a company that will always be looking for a young people with such talents

I just don’t understand the havoc these politically motivated people are causing (I’m sure that no student will burn a train, and if they do, they aren’t qualified for the Army in any capacity). To maintain our way of life, we must work hard. No one is handed it on a silver platter. People with these capabilities will dramatically change India’s entire social structure if they join the various government and private sectors. Physical fitness will be ingrained in the core of these individuals along with qualities like loyalty, integrity, honesty, putting the country first, and intelligence, which will enhance the society’s current state of health.

This, in my opinion, is the Army’s most encouraging move to yet. We need a young army, and I believe the candidates will find this post to be helpful.

Jai Hind !!!
